The sauces are the sub, so this recipe spends its effort there and lets shop-bought tikka paste do the chicken.

Poppadoms and a cold lager, if you are committing to the theme.
The Subway Big Bombay costs £7.79 and comes to 565 kcal in a six inch, which makes it the heaviest Signature sub on the UK menu. It is the Chicken Tikka with two sauces and its mind made up, and it is one of the more distinctly British things on a menu that started in Connecticut.
The build is fixed: chicken tikka, cheese, red onion, lettuce and peppers, with sweet onion sauce and garlic and herb sauce together. That sauce pairing is the whole design. Sweet onion pushes the tikka spicing toward the chutney end of the flavour spectrum, and garlic and herb does the cooling job a raita would do.
The taste is warm spice, sweetness and creamy garlic all at once, and it is considerably richer than the plain tikka it is built from. Texture is tender chicken and soft sauces with the red onion and peppers providing the only real bite, which is why they matter more here than they look like they should.
It suits anyone who likes the tikka sub and wants it as a full meal rather than a sensible lunch. The catch is the calorie figure: it is the heaviest of the nine Signature subs, and the two sauces are where most of that difference sits rather than the chicken.
The comparison on the Sandwiches menu is straightforward and worth making. The plain Chicken Tikka costs less, carries the highest protein of the classic subs, and comes in substantially lighter. The Big Bombay is that sandwich with sauces added, so if the tikka is what you love, the classic version is the more efficient way to have it.
Value comes down to whether you want the sauces. As a fully built, genuinely satisfying spiced chicken sub it delivers, and it is priced in the lower half of the Signature range. As a way to eat tikka chicken, the classic is cheaper and lighter.

It starts at £7.79 for a six inch, at the lower end of the Signature range.
565 kcal in a six inch as built, making it the heaviest Signature sub on the menu. Subway publishes calories for it but not a full panel.
Chicken tikka, cheese, red onion, lettuce and peppers, with sweet onion sauce and garlic and herb sauce together.
The plain Chicken Tikka is cheaper, lighter and carries the highest protein of the classic subs. The Big Bombay is that sandwich with two sauces added, so it depends whether the sauces are the appeal.
Wheat in the bread, milk in the cheese and garlic and herb sauce, and marinades can carry more. Check the Subway allergen guide before ordering.
