The Subway Big Breakwich costs £8.59 and comes to 599 kcal, which makes it the largest breakfast item on the UK menu and the only one that publishes a full nutrition panel. Thirty grams of protein before nine in the morning is a serious opening statement.
The build stacks the breakfast range rather than choosing from it: bacon, sausage and egg together with cheese, in the standard bread, with the salad rail available. It is the everything option, and it is priced and portioned as such.
The taste is a full cooked breakfast compressed into bread, and it works for the same reason a fry-up works: salt, fat, egg and bread are a combination nobody has improved on. Texture is layered rather than uniform, and toasting matters more here than on anything else in the range because there is a lot of soft filling to hold together.
It suits a hard morning or a walk that is going to take a while. The honest catch is the panel: three grams of salt is half the daily reference intake in one breakfast, and it is the heaviest thing on the breakfast board by a distance.
Within the range it is the top end, roughly seventy percent heavier than the Veggie Breakwich at the other. On the all day board, the Big Breakwich Jacket Potato takes the same filling and puts it on a potato for more money and more calories again.
On value it is the most food per pound at breakfast, which is a real argument if you are eating it instead of lunch rather than before lunch. Order it knowing what it is, and the salt figure is on this page rather than buried.

It starts at £8.59, the most expensive item on the Subway UK breakfast menu.
599 kcal as built, making it the heaviest breakfast item on the menu. It is also the only one that publishes a full nutrition panel, which is on this page.
30g on the standard build, which is more than most lunch items on the menu carry.
It carries three grams of salt, half the daily reference intake, alongside the calories. It works better as a breakfast that replaces lunch than as one that precedes it.
Egg, wheat and milk certainly, and sausages commonly contain wheat and soya. Check the Subway allergen guide before ordering.
