Teriyaki sauce made from scratch takes four ingredients and five minutes, and it is unrecognisably better than the bottle.

The Subway Legendary Teriyaki costs £8.19 and comes to 440 kcal in a six inch, which puts it among the lighter Signature subs. It is the sweet, savoury, non-spicy option on a board that leans heavily toward heat and richness, and it is the most restrained thing on it.
The build is fixed: chicken breast, cheese, lettuce, cucumber, peppers and crispy onions, with sweet onion sauce and teriyaki sauce together. Two sweet sauces again, but where the Honey Mustard BBQ uses mustard to cut through, this one just leans in, with the crispy onions supplying the only contrast.
The taste is soy-sweet and glossy, closer to a teriyaki chicken rice bowl than to anything else on the menu. Texture is soft throughout except for those crispy onions, which is why they are not optional decoration; without them the sub reads one-note. Toasted, the teriyaki tightens against the bread and improves.
It suits people who want flavour without heat, which is an underserved corner of this menu, and it is a reliable pick for anyone who finds chipotle everywhere tiring. The catch is sugar: two sweet sauces on chicken makes this the dessert end of the savoury board, and there is no way to order around it.
Its natural comparison is the Big Bombay, the other double-sauce chicken Signature: that one is spiced and considerably heavier, this one is sweet and lighter. Against the plain Chicken Breast on the classics board, you are paying roughly a pound for the sauces and the crispy onions.
On value it is a fair deal within the Signature range and the mildest thing on it, which makes it the safe order for anyone unsure about the rest of the board. Take the crispy onions seriously; they are the only texture in the sandwich.

440 kcal in a six inch as built, which puts it among the lighter Signature options. Subway publishes calories for it but not a full panel.
No, and that is rather the point. It is the sweet, non-spicy option on a board dominated by chipotle, which makes it the safe pick if heat is not your thing.
Chicken breast, cheese, lettuce, cucumber, peppers and crispy onions, with sweet onion sauce and teriyaki sauce. The crispy onions are the only crunch in it.
Wheat in the bread and in soy-based teriyaki, milk in the cheese, and soya in the sauce. Check the Subway allergen guide before ordering.
